Back at the Druid after a very special Amazing Race Canada. This leg took place in Edmonton, our hometown, and featured some great parts of the city. Also, we can officially say that Gord was an extra in the show, one of the drinkers during the Roadblock at Fort Edmonton Park. Classic Gord, at a bar when things are happening. It was pretty cool to see him on the big TV while racers came in to do the task. Unfortunately, that's all Gord can say about his appearance on the race, that he was an extra.
We're back at the Druid to discuss Episode 10. More beer is drunk although Wayne seems a bit annoyed with Gord cause during the credits of this episode, it seemed like Gord was an extra in Episode 11, which takes place in Edmonton, and didn't tell him. Of course, we all know Gord can't say anything. And to be perfectly clear, he hasn't said a single word, not even if he was in that episode or not. But it makes from some funny tension. Again, we decided to so a two parter.
We got a bunch of comments about last week's two-parter video recap that we decided to do another one. It's also so much easier to edit this when we do two. There's also a little treat for Matt somewhere in the recaps, something he requested on Twitter. Also, Ope called our videos heartwarming but we really think Ope needs to have more interesting things to do on a Friday night than watch our videos. But who are we to argue; it's kind of nice to have teams watch our silly videos and comment on them
Hey folks, Gord and Wayne are back for the video recaps. Since Gord was gone for two weeks, I decided to split this week's recap into two parts.
This will be our final video for a couple of weeks. Gord is heading to Hawaii to celebrate his 25th Anniversary. Not sure if Wayne will do video but since it's no fun to hang out at a bar by oneself, probably not. Maybe if a special guest shows up. So enjoy and see you on video at the end of August.
It's a long weekend over here at Gord and Wayne HG so instead of putting the video out on Monday, we wanted to get it into the world a few days prior to Episode 5. We were a little punchy in this one and rambled a bunch but managed to get it down to a respectable 7 or so minutes. Again, thanks to the Druid Pub on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton for giving us a spot to shoot.
Finally, our video for Episode 3 is up. Sorry for the delay but Wayne was on vacation (growing a beard of sorts) while Gord was housesitting out in the country. He's got some story about donkeys and a dead turkey. Maggots are also involved. Anyway, here's the video recap and once again, thanks to the Druid Pub on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton for providing the great shooting location.
We're on time with the video recap at Gord and Wayne HQ today, got it done just before Gord put up his post. Darker beer this time, which provided Wayne with a couple of beer mustaches. And no food. We decided that having food around just distracts Wayne. And Gord was annoyed that he didn't get to eat much. Since Wayne is going on holidays next week, we might to have a video up. If we do, it will be late. Enjoy, share with your friends, comment if you wish.
We were a day late in shooting our first video for Season 3 at Gord and Wayne HQ but that was probably for the best. This year Gord and Wayne are shooting on location, at a local Edmonton pub, The Druid. It's a nice place located on Jasper Avenue and the kind folks there gave us a room in which to shoot. Since this is our first location shoot, we weren't sure how it would turn out. Visually, it's okay, but the music and ambient conversations might be a little too loud. We'll try to fix that next time. Still, nice to do this thing in a great location with some great beer and potato nachos. You'll notice Wayne really liked those nachos (crunch, crunch ) and Gord held onto one for a long time.
Hey, it's our final video of Season 2 Amazing Race Canada. And you'd figure we'd have this worked out so we don't screw up. But there you go. We usually use Gord's camera to shoot these but he showed up at Wayne's house and the battery was dead. Since we didn't want to delay our lunch (and our interview with Mickey and Pete), we couldn't wait for Gord's camera to charge. So we used Wayne's camera. But Wayne (or Wayne's kid, the last one to use the camera) set some kind of timer so all videos would cut off at a certain time. So it didn't record the final bits of the our recap. And this wasn't discovered until a day later, when Wayne started to edit the piece.
We decided we would do the last bits at a bar on Thursday night cause we were already planning to meet for beers. But in the chaos of Gord's family (he's trying to buy a new van but since they only have one car for the time being, Gord's kid has to ride his bike to school and since it's a long way with a couple of major roads, Gord went with him but also had to ride home and then go back and pick him up. And then they had a school function later that night so Gord and his son had to ride there and back for the function. So when Wayne picked up Gord so they could meet some other buds for beers, Gord was tired), they forgot to bring the camera to the bar. That's why you only see Wayne at the end, filling in the final bits and saying thanks.
Not sure if we will do video recaps for TAR Season 25; I'll guess you'll just have to see. Thanks again for watching.
