The episode starts pretty much where the last one ended, with Bobby nominating Brittnee and Kevin for eviction because they were the first two out in the HoH competition. He seems to think that keeps the blood off his hands but this is Big Brother and there's always blood on your hands. The real reason for nominating Kevin, of course, is that he's a major threat to Bobby and the Chop Shop and Brittnee just becomes an easy pawn. Time for Kevin to start working some magic with the HoH.
Brittnee seems to be taking it personally and no one is talking in the house until Sindy, willow, Sarah and Naeha decide to use the HoH room to discuss saving Brittnee and their all girl alliance. Sindy goes on about Kevin and Bobby both being floaters and how they need to outnumber the men and it sounds like a perfect plan. Until they hear the toilet flush and Kevin walks through the room commending them on their great talk. Why none of them would think to check the other room is beyond me and they've now handed their entire gameplay to Kevin. Guess who he's going to see next.
No, not Bobby. Kevin goes to the loudest mouth in the house and gets Graig all fired up. Now Graig is all up in arms and points out that Sindy has just created an all guy alliance where one never existed before. This is great for Kevin but it's not enough so now he goes to Bobby and totally turns things around. The only flaw in Kevin's retelling of the conversation was adding Zach's name to the targets, which could come back on him. He had enough ammo just sticking to the truth.
Things are going to get interesting as its time for the Power of Veto competition. The competitors are Bobby, Brittnee, Kevin, Godfrey, willow and Johnny, and Bobby chooses Jordan to host the competition. Everyone gets into their beaver costumes and heads out to the yard to sit on a log while Jordan explains the competition. Basically players need to race back and forth through a cold pond gathering logs to build their dam by creating a 19 letter phrase. If they happen to find a predator rock in the pond they can yell out the predator and everyone else has to freeze for 1 minute while they keep going. First one to correctly complete the phrase wins the PoV and has the power to remove a nominee.
Apparently the pond is really cold as everyone complains about the temperature but it doesn't stop Kevin from taking an early lead as he gathers his logs. Back and forth, back and forth, the busy beavers race. Johnny finds a rock and yells "BEAR" causing everyone else to freeze and allowing him to take the lead. Meanwhile Bobby looks like he's beginning to suffer from hypothermia as he begins to shiver and cramp up. After Johnny gathers all his logs he starts cramping up just like Bobby. I guess that water really is cold.
Kevin manages to gather all his logs and doesn't seem to be as bothered by the water as the others. He's pretty sure he knows the phrase, relying on the usual list off Big Brother quotes, but he can't find one letter. He hauls out all his logs and tries it again only to end up with the same conclusion, . . . until he rethinks the phrase "Off The Chomping Block" and wins the PoV.
Six hot showers later and Bobby is back up in the HoH bedroom discussing options with Zach. They know Kevin is going to take himself off and the choice is coming down to either Naeha or Sindy as a replacement. Bobby doesn't like that his name came up but I doubt he's all that surprised.
With everyone nice and warm again Johnny is called to the Diary Room to seclude him from the others as they head out to the pond free backyard. They need to line themselves up in order from Least to Most based on preset criteria and then Johnny needs to guess what criteria they used for their lineup. If he guesses three lineups correctly they win a pool party for the house.
The first criteria they line up for is Intelligence and nobody wants to be seen as the most intelligent in the house. Well, except for Sindy who is way too full of herself. None of them seem to have a problem with being the least intelligent though. The lineup is revealed and Johnny needs to choose from either Friendliness, Intelligence, or Competitiveness. It's fun to watch johnnycake mind work as he narrows it down based on where the houseguests are standing and this one was an easy win.
The second criteria is Hygiene and everyone places Sarah at the Least end based on having only washed her hair twice in 10 days. They then line up all the guys and then all the girls and Johnny gets to choose from either Hygiene, Selfishness, or Fan Favorite. Putting sarah at the end made this one a no brainer and again he chooses correctly.
The last criteria is based on Likelihood of Winning Big Brother and everyone starts arranging themselves based on their knowledge of the game. Once again Godfrey swears he's dumb as a post (despite being in psychology) and Bruno stands right next to him until Jordan calls him out. Bruno wasn't too keen on that but then again Jordan was seen as most likely to win, painting a big target on his back. Johnny gets to choose between Generosity, Likelihood of Winning, or Dramatic and easily rules out Dramatic as he felt he would have been first in that line. It was a little harder but once again Johnny chooses correctly and wins a Pool Party for the house.
It's time to kick back and relax for a change as everyone starts to let their guard down. Maybe a little too much as they start playing Spin the Bottle in the hot tub. First Johnny's kissing Zach, then Bobby practically devours Ashleigh, then Johnny gets his dream kiss with Kevin and it's all sweet and touching. Kevin is definitely open minded to whatever comes his way. Then Ashleigh gets her dream kiss with Zach and you can literally watch the hormones heating up. Before you know it everyone in the hot tub is kissing everyone else . . . except for Bruno and Graig who have wisely avoided that scene as they regard themselves as the old guys in the house.
Day 11 dawns and with it comes N'aehas need to talk to Bobby to make sure she's safe. When he mentions his name being bandied about she confirms that Sindy did mention his name. Bobby's not sure which one of them is the brains in that all girl alliance but he's not trusting either one. When Sindy hears rumors that she may be the replacement she takes Bobby aside and tries to throw poor Godfrey under the bus while making a two week deal to keep Bobby off the block should Sindy win HoH. It's the usual gameplay deal and Bobby would have done the same in her place.
Time for the PoV ceremony and it's no surprise that Kevin takes himself off the block, followed by the suggestion that a strong female may be the best choice as a replacement. Falling right into Kevin's plan, Bobby nominates Sindy in his place and it's pretty much all over but the upcoming cat fight. Oh, come on. You know Sindy isn't going to go quietly.
On that note I'll see you all back here for my Survivor review on Wednesday, and probably another recap of Big Brother Canada before returning to the main event on Friday. Until then, may the best girl win.
