Time for the Immunity Challenge, which returns us to season one, a food delicacy challenge. The first round is set up of two rounds of five as the first five players move to the table to reveal a glass full of 40 mealworms, the first three to down them all moves on. Tyson is done in no time, Vytas tries but spits them up, Monica is done, and then Vytas is done after re-chewing the ones he spit up. Gross!
Second half of the first round and the next five move forward and Gervase downs the glassful but he can't swallow, Hayden is done quick, Gervase manages to swallow and he's done, and finally Caleb is done.
Next round; 3 ounces of pig intestine, prepared terrifically, only two people will move on. Tyson spits his back up while Vytas is slowly working through it, right alongside Monica. Monica finishes hers first and moves on, and it's pretty much Vytas or Gervase for the next spot as Hayden, Tyson and Caleb apparently don't like terrifically prepared pig intestines. In the end Gervase has it.
Final round has Gervase versus Monica for the immunity idol and the food item is two grubs. Yummy. That's the same item that Gervase was unable to eat in season one. He whips both of them I to his mouth at once and those cute little grubs jumped right out of Gervase's mouth almost immediately while Monica downed the first one and then the second in record time. Monica wins individual immunity and someone else will be voted out at tonight's Tribal.
Back at camp the conversation is to split the vote with four for Vytas and four for Katie in case one of them has found the hidden idol. Laura seems to be the one behind the split vote and Tyson is all fine with that. He doesn't want to reveal he already has the hidden immunity idol and neither would I. Vytas knows he's a target and assumes they'll split the vote between him and Katie. He's actually a really good player because he can see how things are likely to play out, unfortunately he also tends to be his own worst enemy. Vytas goes to Hayden first hoping to flip a vote and then he goes to Tyson with the same intent, pointing out that the girls could turn in them at any time. Tyson knows that voting out a girl next avoids an all girl alliance but he doesn't want to show his hand and he knows that Vytas is a bigger threat.
At Tribal, Jeff asks Tina what went down back at camp after the last tribal and she reveals how she went off on Tyson and Monica. Vytas goes on about feeling like "how dare you vote out my little brother, I'm my brothers keeper and I'll get you for that" but that he can't say that. Jeff then points out that he just did. Remember that "own worst enemy" I was talking about? Then Vytas turns on Tina because she turned on him, but as he keeps talking he points out that the girls should bond and toss out Tyson or Gervase because they're the two guys calling the shots. He's either really smart or really stupid because the more he talked the deeper he dug. Too deep? Maybe.
Jeff goes to tally the votes and nobody plays a hidden idol so . . . Katie, Vytas, Tyson, Vytas, Vytas, Vytas, Vytas. That's enough, Vytas has been voted out and joins his brother at Redemption Island. Yep, too deep. Jeff points out that for Tina & Katie, being on the bottom may make everyone else feel more secure but it also means they have nothing left to lose.
Back under the blue light special that is the night camera everyone reveals their vote but it comes out that Monica flipped her vote and could have messed it all up had somebody played an idol. She's starting to become a bit of a loose cannon and Gervase is starting to question her. Over on Redemption Island the brothers get some more time together. They're still in this game, but Aras believes his positive attitude will work better than Vytas' negative one to get back in. Personally, I think they're both a little deluded.
Time for another Immunity Challenge; balance a sword on a shield and on top of that balance a series of coins as Jeff calls them out. Ciera is already shaking and she's only four coins in, but Monica drops her coins first and is out. Ciera is right behind her. Tina drops a coin and she's out. Six to go. Gervase is out next, followed by Laura. The stacks are almost three inches high and then Caleb is out. Tyson and Katie have been like statues but the wind is picking up. Tyson flinches and his coins go, distracting Hayden who does the same, and Katie wins immunity.
Tina figures she's going to be the one voted out next and Katie tells her what she knows about the hidden immunity clues so Tina goes racing into the woods and Hayden, Tyson and Caleb follow her. Tyson has no intention of telling anyone he already has it so he now needs to babysit Tina all day. Meanwhile, when the guys catch up to her, Tina acts all happy and everything like she found the idol. Which she hasn't. Monica is starting to panic and Tyson and Gervase start thinking they may need to remove the loose cannon before she goes off and shoots someone in the foot.
Back to Tribal and Tina mentions how she had babysitters all day while she hunted for the idol but she managed to evade her sitters twice so now Monica looks panicked. It doesn't help when Tina tells Monica she's on the bottom. As Tina says, Monica talks too much, and Gervase agrees that a loose cannon is a bad idea in an alliance. Now Monica's talking about splitting votes and making people more paranoid. Jeff asks Tina, "why keep you and get rid of Monica?" which allows her to go on about whether or not she found the idol in a hope to add some confusion to the vote.
There's no reason to split the vote and Tina goes through the motions of having the idol but, "shucks, no idol." Tina, Monica, Tyson, Tina, Tina, Tina, Tina. She was right, her target was getting pretty big and with that Tina joins Aras and Vytas on Redemption Island. I wonder who voted Tyson this time? When Tina gets to Redemption Island she gives the boys a hug and Vytas gives her a blanket and sets her up by the fire, so he can send her home tomorrow. What a nice guy.
Next week the only couple left is Ciera & Laura and the only thing harder than voting out a tribemate, is voting out a loved one. Apparently that's not going to be a problem for Ciera. I'm looking forward to it and so are all of you. See you next week.
