Anyway, it was a pretty decent leg, some really great tasks. Loved to have spent time on that boat for the pitstop. Seems like a good time. Hope there was beer. Then teams had to head out, find a clue in a Blue Lagoon, then find a Dancing Monkey before we really get into the heart of the race. It's a Detour first off. Haul or Harvest. Haul is carry 50 coconuts and 4 chickens. Harvest is get a bunch of seaweed to cover a tarp. I really think Gord and I would take the Harvest cause why carry a bunch of stuff when you could just dig stuff out of the water. And from the rest of the race it seems Harvest was the easier task.
But lookee, lookee, there's a Double U-Turn. And whenever I hear teams talk about a Double U-Turn, I think it's just all talk. When they get to the spot, they chicken out or think they are far enough ahead and don't use it. This time, it seems everyone's out for the Frisbee Boys and that's understandable. By far, they are the most physical team out there. Although it's been teams like Tyler and Korey, and Burnie and Ashley that have shown the most consistency. But U-turning Kurt and Brodie makes sense.
And that's what happens. Tyler and Korey U-Turn their rivals and race to the Roadblock, which is a 40 foot jump off a cliff. Gord would probably want me to do that; and I would, but still 40 feet is high, four storeys high. I used to live on the fourth floor of an apartment for a good part of decade so I know how high that is. Still, I would do it, but it would take a bit of a mental push to take that first step.
Tyler and Korey are worried that the Frisbee Boys could still stave off elimination, especially since they passed the Dancers. Their only hope is the Burnie and Ashley U-Turn them (Tyler and Korey) thus killing the Double U-Turn. And I'm shown again why Burnie and Ashley are one of the top teams out there because that's exactly what they do. Unless something happens, the Frisbee Boys are out.
Nothing happens. The only concern was whether Cole would be able to make the jump. The boy has shown his fear of heights. He makes the jump and good for him. That's not easy even if you aren't afraid of heights. There's a bit of a race to the mat but Tyler and Korey score another win. Burnie and Ashley are again in second but in Amazing Race, it's the last leg that counts.
Kurt and Brodie are out. They were a decent team, a bit overly effusive and made a few mistakes that cost them in the end so I'm not overly surprised.
Next week, looks like China for the second last leg. Wonder if they'll eliminate someone or have the mid-last leg elimination.
