Tonight's episode opens with the usual quick recap but then we repeat the HoH competition and Nick/Phil's nomination. Then we get the reveal that Phil went against Nick's plan by nominating both Wild Cards. Following that we get Cassandra saying she won't use the PoV if she wins, then she wins it and then there's a bunch of extra footage but in the end Cassandra uses it to save Tim, forcing the brothers to target her other ally, Joel. Yeah, there's a bit of dialogue we missed last episode but do we really need a thirteen minute replay of everything?
Right after Nikki's eviction Nick tears into Phil about his decisions because he feels it made them look like idiots. Phil apologizes for his mistake but Nick is right that it was a huge one. Even after the apology Nick keeps going because he's pissed at his brother, and rightly so. This is exactly the kind of drama that production was hoping for when they cast both brothers as a single player, but I'm surprised it took this long to develop.
Finally we're on to the next HoH competition and it's called "Previously On Big Brother Canada" and it's basically an HoH memory competition. Everyone got the first question, while Cassandra got the second one wrong, then Joel got the third one wrong, then Cassandra lost the fourth. So far Tim and Kelsey are in the lead, until Tim second guessed himself and got it wrong. The sixth question and Joel and Kelsey both missed it. It's still Tim versus Kelsey for the last question but in the end . . . Kelsey is the new HoH.
When she really needed to win it she did and that may have also saved Phil and Nick's relationship. Not so good for Cassandra though, who got Kelsey's showmance out last week and then went against the brothers right after that. Everyone heads up to see Kelsey's HoH room and listen to her read her letter from her mom. There's the usual "aww" moments and then everyone heads back downstairs.
The house guests end up outside around and in the hot tub discussing all the alliances that have been voted out and then Tim goes on about a secret alliance nobody knew about. He's talking about "The Threak Show" and Joel is livid about the exposure and walks away. Then Cassandra and Tim follow him and Cassandra tears in to Tim about not talking.
While the Threaks are off on their own, Kelsey realizes that the secret alliance didn't include Nikki at all, it was Tim, Cassandra and Joel. She talks to the brothers and Kelsey really wants to get Cassandra out but she's figured out that Tim is the real mastermind and it's pretty obvious how her nominations are likely to go. On the upside, Nick and Phil are safe this week no matter what happens.
It's Day 64 and Kelsey is holding court against Cassandra. Kelsey is angry while Cassandra is starting to get defensive and then she storms off. Tim follows her out to the pool to find her stewing and crying a little. She's counting on Tim working his magic on Kelsey but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Everyone has been accusing Kelsey of playing emotionally but she's been the least emotional person in the house. Of course now she's decided that may be exactly how she should play the last few days, . . . full on emotional diva. I'm not sure that'd be my choice but it should be fun to watch.
Cassandra knows that she and Tim are a target so they decide it's time to talk to Kelsey. So Tim starts making stuff up and throwing the brothers under the bus but Kelsey has to see right through that. In the dining room Kelsey brings it up in front of the brothers and they adamantly deny it.
It's pretty much everyone against Kelsey at this point while Cassandra and Tim are going back to a conversation from the first week. Come on, this is day 64, not day 7. Nick and Phil are getting angrier and angrier about the whole thing until Tim walks away and then Cassandra walks away.
Joel eventually gets time with Kelsey and suggests she put up Cassandra and the brothers because they haven't been entirely honest but again . . . not her best plan. If she puts up the brothers and they don't win the PoV then they go home and it's everyone against Kelsey. If she puts up Tim and Cassandra and one of them comes off she can then put up Joel, the third Threak. No matter what, if she puts up the brothers she'll be the next to go so she can't put them up at all. She may not win against them (how could she loose) but at least she'd still be there to try. If Tim goes to the end, the others can just congratulate him.
Time for Kelsey to get to her nominations and this should be a no-brainer. She shortlists everyone . . . Joel, Phil/Nick, Cassandra, and Tim. Kelsey locks in her no,I nations and heads out to reveal . . . Her first nomination is Cassandra and her second nomination is Tim. She's nominated them because they've become a dynamic duo in the house and they can both play for the PoV.
The only chance the Threak show has is if Joel wins the PoV and takes off one of the others, forcing Kelsey to put up the brothers and flipping the power back to them. Regardless of how it plays out, I'll be right here to review it on Wednesday, the same day as my next Survivor review. If you're enjoying both of these reviews I'm sure you're also enjoying my Amazing Race reviews so feel free to comment on any and all. See you then house guests.
