Some of you probably read my review of the premiere and at the end of that review I mentioned that I wasn't sure whether or not I'd continue blogging about the show. I'm still not sure that it'll be a continuous thing but after hearing who Canada voted in as the final guest I was surprised and intrigued so I've decided to catch another episode. Welcome to the house Allison. Since I'm watching it, I may as well voice my opinion about it. It's good to share.
So, I've missed the last five episodes and pretty much all the After Hours footage but Ika appears to have become the latest HoH and Paul is still in the house, although he is on the block opposite Ika's pawn Heather. Tonight opened with the usual quick recap and why Ika targeted Paul, she even mentions that Heather's a pawn during her speech, but then admits to the camera that Heather is her actual target. As usual the pawns tend to go home.
Speaking of going home, while Paul was HoH he managed to evict Anick when Andrew got POV and took himself off the block. Then Paul was removed from HoH by Andrew who managed to send Kyle packing, even though he really wanted to get rid of Paul. Now we have Ika as the current HoH and the new houseguest is in the house. That should bring us up to speed.
I'm still surprised that Allison was voted in over Scott, but being the new girl she has immunity this week so she's safe no matter what. However, adding her to the mix has definitely changed up everyone's game.
Heather goes to Ika to ensure she's still the pawn and Ika tells her what she wants to hear. Why she keep going on about how everyone lies to the pawn but she wouldn't do that should make Heather suspicious but for some reason she buys it. She's so young and naive.
Allison, Adel and Paul seem to have been relegated to the Have Not room this week, which allows Adel and Paul time to bond. Allison is busy bonding with someone else. None of the girls trust Allison, and they also don't trust Heather. That makes it really easy to have them all vote out Heather and keep Paul, so Ika calls Paul up to the HoH room and gives him a few hints without actually telling him.
The only person who seems to have taken to Allison is Andrew. Pretty obvious when he leans in and kisses her. She doesn't push him away and they have a little more private chat before he does it again. Not sure if they're both playing each other, but Allison needs to get in good with the house or her immunity won't last. Not sure this is her best way to do that though.
Somehow there seems to be a girls alliance and a guys alliance in the house, but Sarah seems to be confiding in Kenny about how the girls don't trust Allison. There's talk about targeting the guys to thin their numbers, but not targeting Paul or Adel yet. That's good news for Kenny, unless the target falls on him.
House guests now get a BigBrother task to be the most buzz worthy over the next twelve hours, which Arlie takes as his cue to run all through the house naked. Kenny figures that's all he's got as well and strips down almost all the way, while Paul becomes Paulina. Not sure why all these people seem to think an alter-ego is the way to go, but it's a bit easier to take than naked screaming Arlie.
Time for the POV competition. Ika picks Arlie (who finally put some clothes on), Heather picked Andrew, and Paul picked Neda. Ika picks Allison to host. Allison gets dressed as a Ranger while the rest are dressed as Squirrels for the competition Nuts To That; gather acorns, bust them open in a giant nutcracker to get letters, spell the correct phrase and win the Golden Power of Veto.
Everyone seems to get a lot of blanks while cracking their nuts, but the only one whining about it is Paul. Not endearing yourself to anyone with that attitude. Andrew seems to be ahead of everyone with Heather close behind and then Heather takes a fall. Ika figures she's faking it but Heather keeps going on that she's broken her leg and can't feel anything below her knee. She's not even trying to get up and the competition comes to a halt.
Bring on the commercial. The funniest commercial is the one where the guy says he's fallen and he can't get up. Coincidence?
Okay, we're back and in comes the medic. Two of the guys carry Heather back into the house so the medic can check her out and Big Brother continues the competition. Andrew has all his letters, then Ika gets all of hers but neither one can get the phrase. Arlie gets his letters and finally so does Paul. Andrew finally gets the phrase and gets to start on the golden acorn, only to get a Stop sign. Penalty over he's back in it but it's too late . . . Ika wins the Power of Veto.
When Ika goes back to her HoH room Kenny and his crew are there and she lets them know she wants to keep Paul and get rid of Heather . . . but that doesn't sit well with them, which upsets Ika. Meanwhile Allison is playing up to Andrew when Sabrina goes out to the yard to call him up to the HoH room. Not the best situation for Allison because Sabrina already doesn't like her, but then Sabrina doesn't seem to like anyone. When Andrew gets up to the HoH room he tells them all that they should still take out Paul and now Ika is pissed at everyone. Looks like the guys may need to take matters into their own hands, unless Ika back doors one of them.
Still wondering what's happened to Heather.
It's Day 18 in the house and Heather is back, crutches and all. Meanwhile Sabrina confronts Andrew in the kitchen about his "girlfriend" and how she's interfering with the "first five" alliance.
BigBrother calls everyone to the living room and determines that Adel was the most buzz worthy houseguest. Adel also gets news from outside the house, some Olympics news, a few positive tweets and an email from a loved one before opening an envelope containing a "Power of Veto Card" which allows him to compete in a future POV of his choice.
Time for the POV ceremony. Big Brother calls everyone together as Ika makes her decision. She gives Heather a chance to plead her case and Heather says she knows that Ika will do what's best for her game, then she asks Paul and he pretty much gives the same speech. There's a long pause but Ika has decided not to use the POV and back door Kenny. Heather still thinks she's the pawn. Silly girl.
So that's it for the episode. If the guys have their way, Paul will be gone tomorrow but Ika hopes things go the way she planned and Heather is the one going home. If I remember to do so, I'll watch and let you know. Now to get ready for my Survivor review. See you shortly.
