The Cowboys get to the longhouse first to find the Roadblock, which has a team member jump on a bamboo trampoline to grab a flag high above them. Cord makes his first shot for the Cowboys but misses, then Connor makes the jump and makes it look easy as he grabs the flag and gets the next clue, fly to Kuala Lampur, the capital of Malaysia. Nine jumps and Cord still hasn't gotten the flag but when the Afghanimals arrive Leo also makes it on the first attempt which will allow them to catch up to Dave & Connor at the airport, who are on the first of three flights. Leo & Jamal are second on the first flight.
29, 31, 35, finally on the 37th jump (or was it 47th) Cord gets the flag, gets to the airport and the Cowboys are on the first flight with Dave & Connor and Leo & Jamal. Luke gets the flag pretty quickly and they're off to the airport just as the Globetrotters arrive. I think I'd let Wayne do this one and avoid listening to my knees pop. It took BigEasy a few attempts but eventually he also grabs the flag and they're on the second flight with Margie & Luke. You'd think he could just reach up and grab it but apparently not.
Here come the Country Singers and once Caroline found her rhythm it was no problem. John & Jessica arrive and Jessica gets closer with each attempt but she can't find the rhythm. It doesn't help that she's slipping in the bamboo trampoline.
Bringing up the rear is BigBrother. Someone finally notices that Jessica's foot is bleeding, a lot, all over the bamboo trampoline. That probably explains why she kept slipping. She's in pain but the break to check her foot allowed her to find the rhythm. Now it's up to Rachel and Brendon tells her "smarter not harder,"so she removes her pantyhose and gets the flag.
The first flight out gives the first three teams a 90 minute lead and just as the second flight is about to leave their flight is delayed another 50 minutes. That puts the last two flights on top of each other, which is good for those on the third flight but not so much for those on the second.
When they arrive in Kuala Lampur the teams need to make their way to the Petronus Twin Towers to locate this leg's Detour, Mix Master or Master Mix.
In Mix Master, teams have to choose a scratch post and learn to DJ by copying the moves of a professional as they match seven tracks, or . . . Master Mix, teams have to properly pour a pyramid of seven drinks, three yellow and four red, without mixing the colours. The Afghanimals choose Master Mix, as do Dave & Connor and the Cowboys. Outside of the race Leo is a bartender so he figures this is an easy task but even though Leo's first attempt starts well, the colours mix.
The second and third flights arrive in Kuala Lampur and it's every team for itself as they race out of the airport.
Dave & Connor get set up as Leo topples his glass pyramid . . . which is exactly what the Cowboys do. Connor gets close but he's moving the glasses and starts to mix the colours. John & Jessica decide to DJ while Big Brother goes for the Mix as Rachel figures this is right up her alley having been a cocktail hostess (or something). The cowboys are on their eighth attempt, and almost get it but not close enough . . . which causes the Afghanimals to switch to the DJ task.
On their 9th attempt the Cowboys nailed it and received their next clue . . . Make their way to the Batu Caves for this leg's Pit Stop. As per usual, the last team may be eliminated.
Dave & Connor have been there for over two hours when Brendon & Rachel arrive and that motivated them to get it right and move on. Meanwhile the Afghanimals are back at square one with the DJ task and joined by the Country Singers and the Globetrotters. Four teams trying to match their DJ and the Globetrotters think they're ready.
Margie & Luke break some glasses while BigBrother mixes their colours. The Globetrotters weren't ready and they head back to the scratch post for another round of practice but the Afghanimals think they've got it so they step up to perform. They're actually pretty good, you could see them getting into the groove, track after track . . . and they did it. They've moved into third place and are on their way to the Batu Caves.
The Cowboys get to the Pit Stop and are Team Number One. They also win a 5 night trip to London. Cord says "they're like butter, they're on a roll." Dave & Connor are Team Number Two, . . . I guess they're margarine.
Back at the party the Country Singers are having trouble getting in the groove, while Margie & Luke still can't get the technique of pouring down. Then again, neither could Big Brother. John & Jessica didn't make it past their second track while Brendon was on his 14th pour. John & Jessica try it again and this time they made it to the third track, while the Globetrotters lost it on the firsts rack again. This is probably the side of the Detour Wayne and I would have attempted, with him being a drummer and me having an ear for music we could have rapped this up in no time (see what I did there). The 20th attempt at pouring for Brendon is still off as is the 19th for Margie, but the Country Singers nailed their groove.
Over at the Pit Stop, Leo & Jamal are Team Number Three. John & Jessica finally get into the groove, leaving the Globetrotters as the last team to DJ. They did it and moved into 6th place. It's down to Margie & Luke or Brendon & Rachel and Luke is starting to lose it after their 23rd failed attempt. It's a tough task for both teams but it can be done, otherwise the other teams would still be there. Obviously not as easy as Rachel thought it would be.
Margie tells Luke he needs to clean up the mess he made after smashing the glassware and Brendon & Rachel try to help him relax. Over at the mat Caroline & Jennifer are Team Number Four and John & Jessica are Team Number Five. Margie tries to convince BigBrother to take the time penalty together but Rachel tells them not to give up. She gives them a great little pep talk and they both try again. The Globetrotters are Team Number Six.
After talking with Rachel, or more to the point having her talk to him to get him relaxed, Luke managed to find his center and they completed the task to be Team Number Seven, leaving Brendon & Rachel in last place. Rachel talks Brendon through it just like she did Luke and they finally complete the task. Why couldn't she have done that an hour earlier?
Once again, helping another team has put a team in jeopardy, Brendon & Rachel are the last team to arrive, but they're lucky this time as this is a non-elimination leg. They're still in it and I'm glad they are. Rachel has matured a lot since she first graced reality television and she kept it together for her team. Way to go, Rachel. Maybe all she needed was to get married. Now they just need to get past next weeks Speed Bump and move up in the pack.
Speaking of which, next week has the Cowboys fishing, the Globetrotters spinning and BigBrother going for broke as they appear to be throwing all their cards on the table to make a thirty minute connection. See everyone back here next Sunday, . . . or you can catch up in my Survivor review on Wednesday. Ciao for now.
