We've been absent for the past 2 legs of Amazing Race Canada in our video recaps, but we managed to get one in for the finale. It's a bit dark because we are in our regular spot for videos from previous season, The Urban Tavern. Nice people there to let us shoot in their locale, check out their self-pour beer wall. Anyway, we talk a bit about Legs 9 and 10 but mostly about the Finale. As well as give our opinions for the entire season. Thanks all who pay attention to us this season and for all recaps about previous seasons including a couple US ones. If there's a Season 7, we should be back, unless something outrageous happens and we are cast. Not sure if we'll recap the next US season cause we don't know when that will air. Probably after they cancel the Magnum PI reboot. It was really smoky in Edmonton but we finally got to do the video. This time at Wayne's backyard. Typical stuff, commentary about episode, a short argument about who is better with words, and we drink beer. Enjoy, share, comment, delete from your cache. Again, we're out early and this time in Gord's back yard. Though there are a few background noises that seem to distract, especially the murder of crows murdering something nearby. Good times. We talk about the episode, the overuse of the word dance, offer some behind the scenes info and make a minor pitch to a race sponsor. Enjoy, share and/or comment cause this will self-destruct in... Wow. We got this one early. Guess there was time today and even though the wasp problem has been dealt with at Gord's house, we returned to shoot at Wayne's. It's a nice hot day, bit smoky due to BC forest fires but still okay. We talk about the same old stuff, the race, whether anyone at Insight watches these darn things (this time Mike B.), and go on and on about too many dance tasks. Also, a double mention of our pal, Logan, who we relied on for historical TAR info. Enjoy. Share. Comment. Burn after viewing. Took us a bit to get this one going but two in one is better than nothing. Anyway, here we are in Wayne's back deck cause Gord has wasps at his house. We're talking about the legs in Jakarta and Stratford, Ontario. Talk about two solitudes, man. Anyway, we have a bit of fun at the expense of TAR Canada's showrunner and his comment on Twitter. And some of the teams. Just a bit of fun cause what else are we going to do, be serious about things? Again, tell your friends, share with your enemies and political foes. Ha! Just cause you didn't see us last week, doesn't mean we were done with video recaps of Season 6 of Amazing Race Canada. Here we are again, with a double leg recap, just like the real race. We look at bit out of sorts, we admit, but Gord just finished work at his second job, and Wayne played a parents vs kids game of soccer at his kid's season wrap up party. He scored a hat-trick but probably sweated a couple of litres or three. Anyway, enjoy the video recap, share amongst your friends, families and enemies. Comment if you wish. We should be back next week for the Episode 4 recap. As we say in the video, we're back with our video reviews/recaps of TAR Canada. It's Season 6, The Heroes Edition. No real edits in this one cause we're old and we're tired. Gord's got two jobs now, plus freelance, and Wayne spent a whole weekend cheering on his kid's soccer team in the city community championships (BullDawgs came in 3rd!). And we've had some fans who asked us not to edit too much cause for some reason (go figure), they like seeing edit free. Anyway, we do our best to remember teams but it's Episode 1 of a new season and it's hard to remember everyone shown so quickly in an hour. Sure, we could take more notes and rewatch again and again but if you know us, we're not going to do that. Our recaps are usually based on one viewing and our first impressions of that. If you want to comment and share this video with your friends and/or enemies, please do so. We like to hear from you, even the teams. We still keep in touch with some of them in past season. Some, not so much. Anyway, enjoy. Here we are again in Wayne's backyard. This time we had beer but we had hoped to shoot in a local bar. Our previous location, The Druid, shut down halfway through last season for renos. Then it reopened as the Urban Tavern and it had a space where we could shoot. However, it has closed down, temporarily it seems, for even more renos. Can't win, it seems. So the backyard. Gord seems to have Doc Brown hair going on which works for him. Comment if you wish. Here we are in my backyard to discuss the first episode of Amazing Race Canada Season 5. As noted in the video, we love the show, we want it to be great, to succeed and continue, so we're disappointed when it's a bit lacklustre when compared to previous first episodes. Or when the network attempts to attract a specific demographic, which rarely works for TAR (Remember the Family Season. Or the Social Network one?). We hope it will get better and teams will stop trying too hard and just be themselves. This is our final video recap for the season. And you can tell cause we forget some things. Still, we had fun and glad some of you were watching. Hope to see you for a Season 5, as we note in the end, maybe in the capacity as racers. We're always hopeful that one season we'll be chosen because come on, Gord and Wayne are awesome and should be on the race. Other folks, including some racers, have told us the same thing. Thanks for watching. |
