The Afghanimals are out at 3:50am but, as Dave & Connor find out, the museum doesn't open for a few hours so everyone will be at the same place. When the museum finally opens everyone races in and gets their next clue pretty quickly and it's funny to watch them all step aside to read the clue in private for their cameraman. I know it's probably just the way it's edited and it allows the producers to pick and choose who gives the best delivery, but I still think it's funny.
Make your way by train to Allala and locate the Ceypetco Fuel Station. Nobody has any problem finding the station for the hour and a half ride and everybody's on board. Brendon & Rachel finally grab the lead racing off the train and are the first ones to find the Roadblock: Pump It Up, where one team member must take a coloured badge and find four tuk tuk taxis with matching coloured tags then get them to the fuel station and fill them up with three litres of fuel to receive their next clue.
Rachel makes the mistake of thinking it's the car color and not the card color and tries moving all the green cars into the station. Big mistake and it causes a huge traffic jam for everybody, racers and drivers alike. Jamal has read the clue correctly and managed to get his first two tuk tuks done correctly, while Dave is trying to organize his tuk tuks in order. BigEasy gets two done, while John and Dave argue over who controls the pump. Cord gets one done while Rachel is trying to get her next clue but can't figure out what she's doing wrong when no one will give her the next clue. She was so close but it goes right back to Rule Number 1; Read The Clue.
Rachel continues to try filling all the green cars until John tells her to stop screaming and calm down because the card is red. She finally clues in. So much for her lead but at least she's back on track. Jamal has done three as BigEasy completes his fourth and gets the next clue, . . . Travel by train to Rambukkana then by tuk tuk to the Millenium Elephant Foundation and search the river for the next clue.
Once Rachel has stopped tying everything up at the fuel station the other teams manage to finish one after another ahead of her, but now they all need to race to the train before it leaves the station with one team behind. Brendon & Rachel have proven they're pretty quick in a foot race and once again they managed to get their tickets and get on the train just as it's pulling away. Hope Rachel went over to thank John, because otherwise she'd still be fuelling up green tuk tuks. Speaking of which, at Rambukkana everyone races off the train, jumps in a tuk tuk and it's a convoy of tuk tuks racing past each other down the road.
Everyone has no problem finding the clue along the waters edge to reveal the Detour; Trunk, find a piece of marked timber and get an elephant to transport three of six logs while the team transports the other three to load a waiting truck, or . . . Sheets, make five sheets of paper out of elephant dung. That sounds a lot easier than it is. There are only four chains so the last three teams will be doing Sheets, the Globetrotters, the CountrySingers, and BigBrother. On the upside, the elephant dung doesn't smell as bad as they thought it would.
Jet & Cord have no problem with the chains but the other teams are finding it a bit of a challenge. Good thing the elephant moves the bigger logs while the teams move the smaller ones because I'm fairly certain the Cowboys couldn't have even lifted that huge log, let alone get it to the truck.
Over at Sheets there's a lot of "no's" as the teams have too much water, or too much dung, or too many bubbles. I think I'd have just waited for a chain, paper making takes time, . . . Not just to get the right mix but also to get the paper smooth. The Globetrotters finally figured out how to get rid of those bubbles.
Dave & Connor feel they're in a personal race against Leo & Jamal but they're both falling behind the Cowboys. Meanwhile Rachel & Brendon notice what the Globetrotters are doing to get rid of the bubbles and get their first sheet done. Too bad she wasn't as observant back at the fuel station.
Jet & Cord have completed the detour and are off to the Ambepussa Rest House to let their ears guide them to the wise man. Dave & Connor are last out of the Trunk side as the Globetrotters are the first to finish their Sheets.
Though the Cowboys arrived first at the Ambepussa Rest House, the Afghanimals race past the Cowboys but the Cowboys still find the wiseman first and sit to listen to his tune before receiving the next clue . . . Make your way to the Mount Lavinia Train Station and then to the amount Lavinia Hotel Beach, the Pit Stop for this leg of the race where one team may be eliminated from the race. Hmm, I'm thinking Wayne is guessing it's a non-elimination leg about this time, but I'm thinking it may be too soon after the last one.
It's the Cowboys versus the Indians as they race for the Pit Stop with John & Jessica close behind and then Dave & Connor. The Globetrotters catch up to Dave & Connor at a light and it looks like they'll be racing for fourth place.
BigBrother get their clue from the wise man and race off as the CountrySingers arrive. It's now all up to the traffic and everyone could be arriving right on top of each other again. The Cowboys were in the lead as they left their cabs until the Afghanimals jumped down and raced across the tracks rather than using the overpass. Risky but probably worth it at this point, yet Leo is still passed by both Jet & Cord racing through the station. It's a mad foot race to the mat.
Although Leo fell behind at the station he made it up on the sand and Leo & Jamal are Team Number 1 and also win a 5 night trip to Berlin, Germany. Jet & Cord are Team Number 2, probably weighed down by their jeans and cowboy boots.
Back we go to the road where it still looks like everyone is going to arrive at once, until the Globetrotters take a turn off to the right. What the heck? It's John & Jessica vs Dave & Connor at the station and John & Jessica are Team Number 3 while Dave & Connor are Team Number 4. A bit of a disappointing leg for them but it's still good. Brendon & Rachel have moved up to Team Number 5 as the Globetrotters have apparently headed to the bus station and the CountrySingers are beginning to lose hope.
Despite their little detour, FlightTime & BigEasy have arrived and continue to be Team Number 6, which unfortunately means Jennifer & Caroline have arrived last. As luck would have it this is a non elimination leg (hope Wayne called it) and they are Team Number 7. They've found this season to be a lot harder than their season because there aren't as many mistakes being made by the teams. Well, maybe not as many but they're still being made.
Next week teams are off to Rome for a little swordplay and what looks like another foot race to the Pit Stop. Hope everyone enjoyed this week's episode and my review. Feel free to leave comments and watch for our video recap. For those who follow it I'll see you on Wednesday for my Survivor Cagayan report, and for those who don't, I'll be back here next Sunday. Have an amazing week.
