But I mentioned that it seemed the producers of Amazing Race Canada didn't use the Fast Forward. That maybe because they didn't want teams to get to far ahead, or the fact they were only shooting in Canada, they didn't think it was necessary to have a Fast Forward. I was a bit disappointed but whatever, I didn't miss it that much. Did any of you?
"Ho, ho," said Gord. (He actually talks like that). "They did have a Fast Forward, you just didn't see it." And I thought, did I miss something while watching the show? Did I take a leak during an episode and miss something as important as a Fast Forward? Maybe when I was in Moose Jaw and watched online because I got my time zones wrong and missed the broadcast? But nobody talked about a Fast Forward later on.
But I didn't miss anything and neither did other Canadians watching the show. Gord pointed out the blog An Amazing Cause by the Docs, Holly and Brett. In their recap of Episode 5, the infamous Regina stop that saw the Timmies U-Turn BodyBreak, there is a brief mention of a Fast Forward. Something to do with a Police Car simulation that many of the teams tried and failed. Jet even drooled or something. But since no one got the Fast Forward, the whole thing was edited out.
So there is a lot happening in the race that we're not seeing. But that's per usual for this show and all reality shows. They only have 40something minutes to fill and shot hundreds or even thousands of hours of footage. And since Ep. 5 had loads of drama, they had to get rid of something.
